About – me
At the ripe old age of 34 I have had the benefit of working with twelve different companies as a W2 employee and have owned or still own a portion of 4 others. I am an avid investor and new member of the Tech Coast Angels, Inland Empire chapter and a couple year member of the Orange County CIO roundtable. I have been providing consulting services in the business arena for eight years specializing in strategic and operational management. Along with that I have been working in the information technology and systems field for 17 years specializing in business and technology alignment.
I have spent a lot of my life working and absorbing the environments around me, starting with my first “corporate” job at the age of 16. I worked for the Southern California Gas Company as an inspector scheduler. During my undergraduate studies I worked a variety of jobs, some manual labor and some knowledge worker based. I even had a short stint as a biologist. It was my first career out of college. I have established my experience over the years working my way through the startup and corporate ranks. I’ve held such titles as Owner, PC technician, Network Administrator, CEO, Manager, VP and Director.
When it comes to business I love all aspects of the deal and am drawn to growth oriented dynamic companies. I have been an entrepreneur my entire life. At the age of six, I sold avocados from the trees at my house and rode my bike around the neighborhood offering to wash cars. I’ve graduated to having helped start seven companies, one which failed (my first corporate endeavor), and 3 of which I own a percentage of.
I am a first generation college graduate and received my MBA from the University of La Verne in 2000. I received my undergraduate degree there in 1996 with a BS in Environmental Management. I have had the benefit of enjoying a lot of life’s experiences and consider myself to be a generalist at heart. I believe that there is always an ever changing dynamic to the world we live in. I have set my objectives to understand as much as possible but not master any one thing in particular. Though, I believe myself to be good at many things.
Today I thoroughly enjoy startups and assisting businesses with achieving their objectives. It’s a passion.
